Frederico Alagna

Frederico Alagna aka FRADELRICO is a protean artist, Sicilian by blood and French at heart, whose only guiding principle is the constant reinvention of his artistic language. A master of great stylistic departures, he surprises, seduces or disconcerts us with the gentleness or brutality of his works, which leave no one indifferent.

Also a composer, set designer and stage director for the lyric arts with his brothers David and Roberto Alagna, he has been specializing for some time now in traditional sacred works (Stabat Mater, Requiem, Salve Regina, etc.) or those of his own pen (texts which he has translated into Latin before setting to music). Fra is an artist of transmission and sharing.

He regularly invites artists to collaborate on his 4-hand projects. These adventures always bring their share of surprises and new contemporary stylistic challenges. Between two Fine Art creations (painting, sculpture, photography…), Fréderico allows himself a kind of “Artistic Recreation” with his Bimbolina-Bimbolino, which brings him a breath of lightness and freedom inherited from the street-art he practiced as a teenager.

A practice he had put aside for a while to develop and track down an art derived from the great masters of the past, whose depth and intensity have often led him to place himself at the limits of the canons of beauty inherited from antiquity or the Italian Renaissance, to achieve a thoroughly contemporary vision of what art should be, with an eye turned towards the past and a mind open to our tomorrow.
